The Arena was a gladiatorial combat venue and community event site in Zothique, located southwest of spawn at approximately -123, 320 in the Archean Empire borderlands. A sign preserved at elevation reads: "Artifacts of the first fire pit, gladitorial battles" — marking the site as the earliest recorded arena in the world.

Overview

The Arena sits within the western reaches of r.-1.0, in the contested territory between the Fort Phantom II perimeter and the Archean Empire boundary markers. Construction appears to have been underway in 2016 — a large supply complex of labeled material chests survives at -122 to -128, z:347-374, stocked with cobblestone, stone brick, wood, wool, tools, and mob drops for the build.

The elevated artifact platform at y:97 is the oldest surviving feature: a display sign commemorating "the first fire pit, gladitorial battles" and a nearby Server Meeting marker dated 8/13/16, suggesting the site also served as a community gathering point.

Notable Structures

The "FEAR HIM" Corridor

A spectator approach corridor at z:202 is lined with 18 repeating "FEAR HIM" signs spanning x:-52 to x:-1. The phrase was likely applied to a champion mob or named combatant. The corridor's even spacing suggests raised seating or a processional gate structure that no longer survives.

Oasis Mining Fireworks Machinery

Oasis Mining Co. installed a fireworks launch system at approximately -91, z:342-346. Signs label it "Fireworks Machinery — Oasis Mining Co." with ON/OFF controls and an "Encore Burst" toggle — standard Oasis Mining event infrastructure, repurposed here for arena spectacle.

Supply Depot

A ground-level supply complex at -122 to -128, z:347-374 contains labeled chests: cobblestone, stone brick, wood, wool, ores, minerals, flora, clay, tools/armor, and mob drops. The "Exit <-----" sign at -100/z:346 marks the depot's south entrance.

Lore

The arena predates the formalized railroad network. "Railroad line #4 West" from the Rainbow District terminal is noted as running to this area, suggesting the venue was intended as a destination on the western rail. The proximity to Fort Phantom II (confirmed at -59 to -62, z:434) implies the arena may have fallen within Fort Phantom's operational territory.

The "Server Meeting 8/13/16" sign at -127/z:322 dates the site to August 2016 — consistent with Zothique's late-era community activity before the world's retirement.
