Cakemaster Treasure Hunt
The Cakemaster Treasure Hunt was a multi-region puzzle trail in Alpha Centauri, authored by an anonymous player styling themselves the Cakemaster. The trail used labelled sign clusters — each headed with a Delicious Cake sign — to guide adventurers across the world toward a hidden treasure.
Known Clue Stations[edit]
Station 1 — Rio De Oro territory (r.-3.1)[edit]
Clue signs (paraphrased):
- The final destination involves binary islands to the west (sunset) of a city called Serpert
- An X-marked island holds a final puzzle
- A clue "burning to be sought after" — the trail continues
Station 2 — Genesis territory (r.0.3)[edit]
The Cakemaster confirmed the treasure was taken by warriors and forgers and hidden beneath an X-mark in their city, outside a warzone.
Additional Clues[edit]
Further sign clusters have been reported across alphac, pointing explorers toward the binary islands and a frozen city in the north. The full route has not been reconstructed.
The Treasure[edit]
The final fate of the Cakemaster's treasure is unknown. Rumours speak of temple bandits, a city that guards secrets behind locked walls, and an X that marks something far older than the Hunt itself. The Cakemaster was known to leave notes hinting at a sequel — Cakequest vII — suggesting the trail may not be finished.
Whoever finds it first writes the next chapter.
