Cakemaster Treasure Hunt
The Cakemaster Treasure Hunt was a multi-region puzzle trail in Alpha Centauri, authored by an anonymous player styling themselves the Cakemaster. The trail used labelled sign clusters — each headed with a Delicious Cake sign — to guide adventurers across the world toward a hidden treasure.
Known Clue Stations
Station 1 — Rio De Oro territory (r.-3.1)
Location: -1195, 61–62, 730–733
Clue signs (reading order):
- "Greetings, You are almost at your final goal adventurer"
- "Towards sunset from the city of serpert lay binary islands."
- "The treasure is not here, but located in a vastly further location."
- "Your next clue will is burning to be sought after."
- "on the 'x' marked island you will find a puzzle that will test even the most brainy of adventurers. You have been forwarned."
Key information:
- The final destination involves binary islands located to the west (sunset) of a place called the city of serpert
- An X-marked island contains a final puzzle
- A clue "burning to be sought after" suggests fire or the Nether
Station 2 — Genesis territory (r.0.3)
Location: 323–326, 60–63, 1759–1763
- "Hey adventurer! You have been following the clues quite accurately and have found once again more cake."
- "The treasure has been stolen by a group of nasty warriors and forgers."
- "They have hidden the goods beneath an 'X' in their barbaric city outside of the warzone."
- "Happy hunting! -The Cakemaster"
The Cakemaster confirmed the treasure was taken by warriors and forgers and hidden beneath an X-mark in their city, outside a warzone.
Analysis
The hunt spans at least two confirmed stations across the western and south-central regions of Alpha Centauri. The reference to the city of serpert (possibly "Serpent") suggests a city not yet catalogued by the Archivist. The "barbaric city outside of the warzone" where the treasure is ultimately hidden is also unidentified.
