Rio De Oro was a western frontier city in Alpha Centauri, located at approximately -1133, 66, 793 (OW). The name, meaning "River of Gold" in Spanish, reflected the city's ambitions — a project board with over a dozen planned works suggests an active building programme.

History and Development[edit]

A planning board posted at the city centre listed the following projects:

  • Build Warehouse
  • Go on a Quartz Expedition
  • Light Up Area Around the City
  • Fight the Wither
  • Re-Create Nether Hub
  • Build Automated Farms
  • Replace Ground
  • Build Skelly Grinder (referenced location: -1409, 27, 597)
  • Divide Land into Sectors / Plots
  • Re-Locate Rail-Line
  • Finish Reed Farm
  • Build Mob Grinder
  • Finish Trading Post
  • Re-Create Slime Grinder
  • Finish Expansion
  • Build Roads
  • Bring Horses to Rio

The final item — "Bring Horses to Rio" — gave the city its name in-world.
