MattFu is one of the earliest veteran players in Ravenkraft's history, present from the founding era of Alpha Centauri IV and credited with introducing the cheese toastie tradition that became a cornerstone of server culture.

The Cheese Toastie Tradition

During the late-night gaming sessions of Ravenkraft's founding years — monitors glowing in dark dorm rooms — MattFu brought a piece of his Midwest home life to the group: the cheese toastie. While the wider world called it a grilled cheese, in MattFu's corner of the country it had always been a cheese toastie. The name stuck.

One September 28th, the group spontaneously declared it Cheese Toasty Day. The tradition has continued every year since. According to server lore, something else came into being alongside the tradition: the spirit now known as Shadowmelt — the warm, golden memory of those early sessions, made manifest.

Server History

MattFu joined Ravenkraft during the Alpha Centauri IV era — the server's first orderly world, launched in 2012. He was among the veteran players who shaped the community in its formative years alongside Wizardofire, ComradeFeliks, and others.
