wizardofire is the founder and administrator of the Ravenkraft Network. He launched Apples of Discordia in 2011, built Alpha Centauri IV in 2012, and has kept the server running across eras, dark ages, revivals, and at least one Winter Event revelation about his true interdimensional origins ever since. Every world on this server exists because he either built it or answered the phone when someone said they were going to.

He is from central Illinois. This matters because of the cheese toastie.

Building Style[edit]

Wizardofire is synonymous with glass domes — a signature structure that has appeared in server infrastructure across every era. Where other builders choose the simplest solution, Wiz chooses the most elaborate one. This habit earned him the community's affectionate term: wizwozing.

"Let me wizwoz this real quick"

A wizard-woze solution typically involves more hoppers, more comparator clocks, and more redundant rail branches than any practical need would justify. When he is not building, he can usually be found around Ravenport muttering about chickens and cactus-based XP farms.

Server History[edit]

Wizardofire founded Apples of Discordia in 2011 and Alpha Centauri IV in 2012. During the alphac era he built and maintained the Isengard Rail Station, contributed to the Alphac Nether Hub, and took over development of Bartersigns — adding enchanted-item support and real-time data in his first Java project, laying the foundation for what eventually became the BarterShops plugin.

In 2013 he co-built The Kingdom of Zeal with his daughter Frog — a glass dome city built for a server event that survives as the RVNK Event hub world and gateway to the Arcology archives.

During Zothique (2015–2017) he built Narita, the city northeast of world spawn. He won RyanPhantom's 16-clue server-wide scavenger hunt (winner's book signed at Aradia, r.3.3) and maintained a personal storage locker in the Zothique nether (r.0.-5) alongside theoubre, felixdeportu, Storm_Design, and others.

After the server went offline in 2017, he was recruited back by ComradeFeliks for Diaspora. After one night of playing together, the two pulled the old Ravenkraft player list and sent revival invitations. The response brought back MickyMack, theoubre, Bonerus, justin1423, TheWanderingFool, Linatic, and dozens of others. Wiz anchored the Diaspora Nether Express hub at world origin with one of his glass dome designs. Together they relaunched as Ravenkraft in 2022 for the current Bankrekka era, co-founding Ravenport at (−730, 143, 120).

Notable Builds[edit]

The Kingdom of Zeal (2013)[edit]

A glass dome city built with his daughter Frog for a 2013 server event. The dome encloses a crumbling stone city reclaimed by moss and vines. It survives as the hub world on RVNK Event — the entry point to the Arcology and the portal gate to all archived worlds.

Narita (Zothique era)[edit]

Wizardofire's home city in Zothique at approximately (143, 70, 102), region r.0.0 — directly northeast of world spawn. The city contains a Train Station, Town Hall, communal Warehouse, Enchanter's Decanter, Diner, Pub, and Chorus Fruit Farm. Ye Olde Wiz Road passes through as a named boulevard. The nether route connecting Narita to the Britlands is named Cheese Toasty Way.

The adjacent Cemetery contains a gravestone for wizardofire inscribed: "HERE LIES / THE ADMIN WHO / WIZARDOFIRE / BANNED HIMSELF" and "Choked on cheese toasty." He built the cemetery. He wrote both.

The Drunken Stone (November 16, 2019)[edit]

On one of the first nights of Diaspora, Wizardofire co-built The Drunken Stone tavern at (112, 66, 1102) alongside felixdeportu and Bonerus (Bonez). The sign reads: "Wiz, Felix & Bonez — 11/16/2019." It is the earliest social structure in Diaspora.

Community Blaze Grinder (January 1, 2021)[edit]

Built on New Year's Day 2021 at nether (66, 59–60, −345) with TheWanderingFool, crumpet, bhelley, and felixdeportu, with MCBIOX as a witness. The in-game sign reads: "wizardofire, fool, crumpet, bhelley, and felix (MCBIOX watched)." It is the community blaze grinder.

Archea Graffiti (Alpha Centauri era)[edit]

At (1503, 89, 2213) in Archea, wizardofire left a sign: "Twinkies is my favourite — wizardofire." This is a personal endorsement of the player Twinkies97, written in someone else's city while passing through.

Ravenport (Bankrekka era)[edit]

Co-founded with ComradeFeliks at (−730, 143, 120) as the spawn capital of Bankrekka. The main street, city portal, and train station were built at launch. Every subsequent settlement on the map is downstream of this one.

The Traveling Circus[edit]

During the Diaspora era, Wizardofire participated in the Traveling Circus — a recurring expedition event of his own invention. He also participated in a 1st Tour during the Zothique era (mining expedition with Mycroft53, Rottorz, DinoGlitch, felixdeportu, and RawrSaysMe). The 2nd Tour plaque (April 5, 2020) records his presence alongside justin1423 and felixdeportu.

Named nether checkpoints from the Diaspora circuit: Morius Checkpoint (138, 67, −2) and Helley Checkpoint (178, 68, −2) — each honoring a player by physical sign.

Cheese Toasty Day[edit]

Wizardofire grew up calling a grilled cheese a cheese toastie — a usage regional to central Illinois. During the server's early days, Mattfu was making what he called a grilled cheese. Wizardofire corrected him. The term stuck, the session became a tradition, and September 28 became Cheese Toasty Day, observed annually ever since. Shadowmelt is said to have coalesced from this original moment. The Cheese Toastie Hat is a rare cosmetic item with a 0.5% drop rate.

The Winter Event Revelation[edit]

During the "Oh Shit the Winter Event!" on January 6, 2024, it was revealed — to the shock of everyone present — that Wizardofire is actually an impostor from an alternate universe. In his original universe he was known as Wizardoffice. He mysteriously crossed over and assumed the real Wizardofire's identity. The fate of the original Wizardofire remains unknown.

Family[edit]

Wizardofire's brother is Ajentsp02, who also played on the server during the Alpha Centauri era. Ajentsp02 is named on the Ravenport Southern Bridge plaque (March 2013) alongside justin1423, Mattfu, TheWanderingFool, and AnUnhappyPickle — one of the last major community infrastructure builds of the alphac era.

His daughter Frog co-built The Kingdom of Zeal with him in 2013. The dome city survives as the gateway to the archived worlds.

Bartersigns & BarterShops[edit]

During the Alpha Centauri IV era, Wizardofire took over development of the Bartersigns plugin — a vanilla-flavoured item trading system — making it his first Java project. He added enchanted-item support and real-time data alongside the existing sign-based barter mechanic. This early work laid the foundation for what eventually became the BarterShops plugin, now a core part of the Ravenkraft economy.
