Noir is a major underground city in Bankrekka, the current survival world of the Ravenkraft Network. Built by ParadigmPlague, it sits at 540, 19, −640 in region r.1.-2 — its Dynmap pin placed at y=19, deep below the surface. The city spans 126 vertical blocks, from a decorative subterranean level at y=−22 to the upper pony pens of The Shaq at y=104.

Founding[edit]

A date sign at the surface entry point (512, 72, −575) reads 7/4/2022, establishing July 4, 2022 as the earliest confirmed build date.

Deep Underground (y=−22)[edit]

Below the XP grinder floor, a subterranean passage at y=−22 features two decorative signs composed of box-drawing characters and a crescent moon glyph (☽), forming a stylized ASCII banner. A directional sign — "To: Surface" — marks the ascent route back to the main city.

XP Grinder and Enchant Shop[edit]

The city's economic core sits at y=14–24. A large lever-operated XP grinder offers two modes:

Levers down — to get XP passively
Levers up — to grind XP actively

A `/trigger ch_toggle` sign at (536, 18, −631) provides chat-toggle access. Adjacent to the grinder, a name sign at (539, 19, −635) reads Noir Grow-op.

Enchant Shop Inventory[edit]

An extensive enchanted book shop occupies (553–561, 20–21, −600 to −623). A central "almost OP" display sits at (553, 21, −618). Books available include:

Armor: Protection, Fire Protection, Blast Protection, Projectile Protection, Thorns, Respiration, Aqua Affinity, Feather Falling, Depth Strider, Frost Walker

Ranged / Crossbow: Power, Punch, Flame, Infinity, Piercing, Multishot, Quick Charge

Fishing / Trident: Lure, Luck of the Sea, Loyalty, Riptide, Channeling, Impaling

A "multiple genres" section at (556, 20, −620) groups cross-category books. The shop represents one of the most complete enchant inventories documented in Bankrekka.

Sushi's Soup and Stolen Copper Emporium[edit]

At y=51–57, SushiBaked operates her signature shop. Multiple exterior signs advertise the establishment:

The shop offers stews at negotiable prices, "heavily discount copper you can trust," and surplus ingredients. A dining room is accessible via ladder ("climb latter, watch ur steps"). A CAUTION: STICKY FLOORS warning is posted at the entrance.

B 'n' B Public House & Inn[edit]

A multi-floor inn occupies (557–566, 83–88, −625 to −627). Signs on two floors read "B 'n' B Public House & Inn" and "B 'n' B Inn Lodging," confirming a two-level establishment. Public Stables are located nearby at (556, 91, −653).

Trash Horses[edit]

A sign at (532, 80, −620) marks a horse disposal bin: Trash Horses — Leave them in the Bin, where they BELONG…<3 — a humorous fixture for unwanted mounts.

Message Board[edit]

Two "Message Board" header signs frame a visitor register at (557–560, 88–91, −664). A decorative ☽ motif sign (Noir's recurring ASCII emblem) is mounted above the board. The following inscriptions were recovered:

Fox_Girl_Storm's 2024 entry — scouting MapArt card locations — is the most recent confirmed visitor inscription at Noir.

Pony Passway[edit]

A corridor at (599, 95, −686) leads east toward The Shaq: "Welcome to the Pony Passway! Path coming soon!" A note at (620, 91, −677) reads: I busted out the Wall. I'm not sorry. <3 Sophie — an informal expansion of the corridor.

An automated sorter along the eastern approach carries a technical note at (739, 94, −691): "m/s Rate = 780 divided by items in chest" — a hopper-speed calibration formula.

The Shaq[edit]

The Shaq is an elevated structure at (660, 102, −714), reached via the Pony Passway. An entrance sign reads:

The Shaq is centered on She-nay-nay, a named horse described as "like the sword in the stone — just waiting 4 the 1." A graded pony pen system occupies the surrounding enclosures:
